Beltane  Celebration

Beltane (meaning ‘bright fire’), is celebrated on May 1st, acknowledging the midpoint between Spring and Summer, a time to honor the God and Goddess of Spring. The days get noticeably longer, with the sun setting later, the weather getting considerably warmer and Mother Earth pushing into full summer awakening.

Marked with a special bonfire (symbol of protection and encouraging growth), a time of great fertility for Mother Earth, of coming together to honor our connection with the natural world, inviting us to become more attuned to nature, and the pleasure of being alive.

The celebration includes making and wearing hair wreaths or garlands with flowers and plants that bring you joy, a Beltane Food Feast, Bonfire, Ceremonial Mediation, Music and Movement.

YOU WILL NEED TO:

  • Wear something green and bring some flowers (real or not) for your garland.
  • Bring  food (homemade or bought), as your offering for the sharing Beltane Feast
  • Bring suitable footwear and clothing for being outside / blanket.
  • Bring a chair to sit around the bonfire.
